This project is a peaceful protest against how people seeking asylum in Ireland have been confined in a corrupt and abusive system.
The collection shown in this publication are postcards I have sent to the Minister for Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth, Roderic O’Gorman. Each postcard has a different newspaper headline, from the last eight years, outlining injustices that have occurred in Direct Provision centers across the country.
The postcards were left in my apartment building as part of the community focus initiative run by An Post. They give me a free way to lobby and write to Roderic O’Gorman. Using materials from a state owned company was important to the project. It was interesting being able to lobby the government using its own initiative.
